About Us
The
Southern States Police and Veterans Coalition, Inc. was formed in
2000 to assist police officers and veterans with claims relating to
their law enforcement service and or their military service.
Southern States Police and Veterans Coalition monitors legislation
of importance to law enforcement and the military. The organization
makes the voting records of our public officials available to our
membership, other groups and the voters of the general public. We
take stands on any issue effecting the public safety and homeland
security. The Southern States Police and Veterans Coalition, Inc.
Coalition through its voter guide program informs our members and
the members of other organizations of which our membership is also
affiliated with by virtue of the member's membership in these
organizations. Southern States Police and Veterans Coalition is a
non-partisan IRS 501(c) (5) organization. This designation does not
allow for tax exempt contributions to the organization.
The strong philosophy of the founding members is that no member or
group of members shall be denied assistance for any reason. There is
no board, committee or membership approval required to obtain help
with your issue. Our premise is simple! "We are dealing with
police officers and veterans, not procedures; with their problems,
not ours". Except for the wording " police officers" This is
a quote by Omar Bradley, Administrator of Veterans Affairs
1945-1947. The quote was provided by a senior VA representative and
the Southern States Police and Veterans Coalition's leadership
believes that General of the Army Omar Bradley's philosophy is the
right attitude to have when serving the interests of police officers
and military veterans. Assistance is provided to any member without
cost. The only requirement to receive assistance is to be registered
as a member. The Southern States Police and Veterans Coalition, Inc.
does not dispense legal advice, except upon authority of our various
pro bono legal counsels. If legal services are required and in most
instances they are not required, the member is directed to an
attorney for further assistance.
Our
Officers and Board members and the general membership may also hold
membership in other police and veterans organizations. However,
G-COPS. org and Southern States Police and Veterans Coalition do not
necessarily express the views of any other police and or veterans
organization listed on our website nor do the views and positions on
issues taken by other police and veterans groups reflect our views
and or position on a particular issue. However, we will when we deem
it to be beneficial to the law enforcement and military communities
support other groups on an issue.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to hold our
elected officials accountable for their actions and our target is
Georgia's highest ranking elected official - Saxby Chambliss. Be
sure to vote early or for sure on Tuesday DEC 2nd. The stakes are
high on Tuesday December 2nd.
Saxby has consistently voted against the interests of hard-working,
middle-class Georgians during his time in the Senate. He has
voted against the interests of peace officers and veterans. He voted
against HR 980 giving peace officers due process rights. Saxby voted
against providing funding for body armor for our men and women
serving in Iraq. His votes have caused real damage to our community,
to our families, and most importantly to our children. It is crucial
that we make the right choice and send JIM MARTIN to the U.S. Senate
fight for for police officers and veterans. Veterans should not
under any circumstance vote for a politician who evaded the draft
five times to keep from going to Vietnam. As a USA 1st Lieutenant
Jim Martin answered the nation's call to serve. Also veterans should
never forget the despicable ad that Shameless Chamblis ran against
triple amputee Max Cleland in 2002. Senator Max Cleland like Jim
Martin answered the nation's call to duty. Senator John McCain and
Vietnam POW called Saxby's ad against Max Cleland "despicable.
